Flexible Infrastructure Readiness Evaluation

2e2 has built a  Flexible Infrastructure Readiness Evaluation (FIRE) which assesses a customer’s readiness and moreover it assesses your current situation.  We can then help customers develop a transition plan to Flexible Infrastructure in your own data centre as well as look at potential adoption of cloud services. It also  develops an outline business case.

Flexible Infrastructure Readiness Evaluation (FIRE)

There is a significant amount of hype and confusion in the market around public and private cloud.  However, 2e2 recognise it is important to clarify service requirements first.  Whether services are in-house or external, organisations are struggling to understand how to identify and exploit tangible benefits, qualify risks and ensure flexibility.  Clear steps will be needed to ensure their infrastructure is flexible enough to transition and manage relevant services between internal or/and external sources most effectively.

In Gartner’s ‘Cloud Computing the Next Generation Outsourcing’ Nov 2010, they recommend that customer’s do a ‘readiness assessment’ to understand the organisations ability to consume public cloud services; implement private cloud-computing environments and to develop cloud based applications and solutions.

2e2 has built a  Flexible Infrastructure Readiness Evaluation (FIRE) which assesses a customer’s readiness and moreover it assesses your current situation.  We can then help customers develop a transition plan to Flexible Infrastructure in your own data centre as well as look at the potential adoption of cloud services. It also  develops an outline business case.

The FIRE assessments cover:

  • IT finance readiness
  • Outsourcing models and vendor management
  • Governance and investment models
  • Roles, responsibilities, policies, guidelines
  • Run, grow and/or transform the business
  • Technology readiness assessment
  • Data centre, infrastructure and operations
  • Architecture
  • Security levels
  • Flexible capacity needs: by service and spare ‘pool’ for multiple services
  • Requirement for management services
